Morning Friends,

Sending out a little warm So Cal sunshine this morning for my friends who are still trying to chase away the cold winter weather! I'm in the process of packing for a get away trip with hubby to Palm Springs, Ca so I thought I'd share a recent adventure with you.

I only live about an hour away from Palm Springs so its just a short drive to visit this beautiful destination. I was out there a few weeks ago with my friend Kathy to visit the La Quinta Arts Festival and while we were there, Kathy surprised me with a visit to see the "Forever Marilyn" statue on display downtown. I didn't even know "Forever Marilyn" existed, let alone that she was in town! I'm the one in the white shirt, jeans and sneakers and yep, I'm sure I'm the last one to learn about this larger than life tribute! Isn't she fabulous???

Here's a few fun facts: She was sculpted by Seward Johnson and is part of a series called ICONS REVISITED which debuted internationally in Chicago in 2011. "Forever Marilyn" was inspired by a photograph taken by Bernard of Hollywood. She's made of bronze and stainless steal, stands at 26' tall, 17' wide, 18' deep and weights in at 34,300 pounds! For any of you visiting So Cal this spring, she'll be on display in Palm Springs through June 2013.

Leaving you with my favorite Marilyn Monroe quote: "I don’t mind living in a man’s world as long as I can be a woman in it.” Make it a happy day my friends! Big hugs ~ Dawna
