I was asked to make a layout for a local art show hear in town and was instructed not to use any pictures that could identify me or my family. I found this powerful photo after doing a search for motherless children in the google images search engine. This one really hit home. The song "Motherless Child" is an old African American folk song hundreds of years old, created and probably sung by the children separated from their parents for life when they were sold to other owners. The first line of the printed poem is the title of this song... the rest I wrote myself because its all true. This is me and this is... sometimes, how I feel or how I have felt since losing my own mother 9 years ago. We always moved around growing up and I've lived a lot of places but I've never had a home... until I moved into the house I am in last November. They wanted me to bring it and I did...

I used the Scraps of Darkness Kit WHITE RABBIT to make this layout. I think the red and black flowers are from another kit. The amazing paper I distressed and used for the layers is from the Wonderland Collection by 7 Dot Studio. I love them so much I haven't wanted to use them for any old layout. Definitely in my top 3 favorite collections of all time.

I have my studio set up in the basement and need to do some remodeling of my long awaited "Scraproom" upstairs... And just when I finally got all my stuff organized in the basement. But hey... progress takes time... and that is all I got plenty of it seems. Thanks for looking.
