This is a photo of my grandmother at about age 16 and circa 1910. I don't know why the photo was taken but am very happy to have a copy none the less.

I intended to enter a March challenge here with this LO but didn't quite finish it in time. Still, it got me out of a scrapping block and allowed me to try with a few new techniques. Some of those even made it to the page - well done or not. As usual, I am never able to envision the final result of a LO. It always ends up differently than I thought it would. This one acquired a lot of purple for instance. I think it was one of her favorite colors though so it was alright in the end.

Let's see... I paint stenciled the photo mat. (I was supposed to try homemade modeling paste but couldn't get the right consistency.) I turned a border punch piece into a circle frame. I stamped across multiple pieces of paper (for the fan). I tried (not quite successfully) the pull back paper technique in order to expose the lacey pieces behind the blue sheet. I spot glued the foliage to create depth. I stitched (again). I think those are all the techniques the challenge suggested.

I also painted the Vintaj metal charm piece a bright gold and then applied a printed clock face and cut the tiny hands myself and applied them to show almost 3 O'clock. I wanted this to represent the impending ending of the childhood of her life. In a couple of years she married my grandfather. The fan has personal meaning to me. I had originally intended to have another metal charm for this but ended up constructing it myself. It sparkles better IRL.
