My chalkboard if finally usable. I might add something to the frame yet. Frame is a thrift store find (an old calendar holder). The wire basket....thrift find too. It had handles on it but I took those off and repainted it. Thinking of adding a ribbon around it...this will hold the chalk. The board I used....not real happy with it. Might change it eventually. I used luan and it has tiny grooves in it. I was hoping by priming and painting it they would fill in....nope. It adds character anyway....the board looks well used. The frame paint color I used was supposed to be chrome. This looks nothing like chrome to me according to the mirrored cap on the can. I was trying to match my stovetop (not that its chrome top is in good shape after 70 years). It'll due though. Hoping to revamp my kitchen with new paint & and a new backsplash sometime soon.
