I bought this kit while I was out in California last year during my visit to Pine Cone Press out in Santa Ana. It's 'Artsy Urban' by Melody Ross for GCD Studio's. I've never used this many papers at once and it kind of turned into a hodge podge, but don't mind it too much. The LO is based on a Jumbo Tag Album that Margaret Young put together. There are little journal cards behind each tag.

When we first moved from Canada to the US, I bought the kids a butterfly hatching kit from Insectlore and then we watched as they morphed from caterpillars into butterflies. We have a wonderful facility just north of Denver - The Butterfly Pavilion. It's an 11 acre facility where amongst other activities, you can take your new hatched butterflies into the 'tropical conservatory' and give them a new home.

My Mom came (visiting from Canada) with us to release our butterflies and we talked with a number of kids who were interested in the experiment. In the upper right hand corner the picture is of one of the Monarch butterflies just emerging from it's cocoon, the pic is taken through the netting of the enclosure. The butterflies in the photos are an Owl Butterfly and in the lower right hand corner, the two butterflies are Common Mormon Swallowtails. This was also the first time that the kids and my Mom held 'Rosey the Tarantula', which led to my DD1's interest in later getting her own tarantula (which has since been re-homed - YUCK) - TFL
