journaling reads: You can take the girl out of the garden...
There really is nothing like seeing something flourish that you've tended from a seed or a sprout, except maybe the incomparable taste of vegetables fresh from the garden. It never grows old spotting a bright yellow cucumber bloom, or seeing tiny pods form on beans. Kyria has only to look at an onion and it will sprout leaves! My garden is still very small - only two boxes, each 2 x 8 feet - but I have beans and cucumbers, onions ( lots of onions!) radishes and carrots, peppers, lettuce. And broccoli. I will soon need more boxes as the broccoli is taking over. They are huge! My tomatoes are going to go into buckets, if they ever get big enough. They currently seem to e in a state of suspended animation, but they will get there. We love the vegies on the table, but just as much I love to see them grow!
