Journaling: This is me laying on the kitchen table at a couple of days old. The beer and cigarettes by my head are a 1970’s parenting WIN, for sure... One of the things I remember fondly from my childhood is the sheet set on the pillow I’m laying on. When I first learned to read, my mom said she would sometimes hear me reading the words on the sheets in the middle of the night, and getting frustrated. Not because I was having trouble reading, but because some of the words next to the pictures were “wrong”. The cow picture had the word “Cow” next to it. The sun had “Day”, and the moon had... “Moon”. Three-year old Kacy was annoyed at the inconsistency that this presented - shouldn’t the moon be “Night” if the sun was “day”? Or the sun should be called, you know, “Sun”?
