We parked and the kids raced down to the beach at Encounter Bay. Daniel spent some time searching the waterline to see what he could find, while Joshua just enjoyed walking along the beach. Encounter Bay is really pretty with its soft white sand and jewel coloured waters. It would be the perfect spot to have a picnic... except for the allure of Granite Island in the distance... connected to the mainland by a short horse drawn tram and its pedestrian causeway... which visually draws you away from the beach and entices you to rather have lunch on the island… which is exactly what we did!
