This is a day we will always remember. We became part of the making of the Human Flag!
Journaling reads: A Seattle radio station put on an event which was titled The Human Flag! They asked for our participation and more than 1,000 listeners and their families came out to show their support. It took place at Memorial Stadium on September 29, 2001. Just 18 days after the Sept 11th attacks! Once everyone was in place holding their colored paper, someone sang, then I believe we heard a poem. Then the countdown began. They had placed someone on top of the Space Needle to take our picture. When they asked us to raise up our papers, doves flew over us and then circled over us a second time! It was breathtaking! It was a meaningful and fulfilling experience. I am so glad my children and I were able to be a part of it!
