BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Love the story of what you used to make this beautiful LO!! I'm so impressed with all the layering and special pieces. Love how your SIL and her niece seem to be floating on the butterfly's wing. Just gorgeous piece!
Wow what a great story, I like how u cut up your painting, What us creative people do to make a layout, I think it came out Fabulous and I love the picture riding on the butterfly...Totally Cool...Very Nicely Done..
WOW, this is neat & I love how you have them riding on the wing of the butterfly. I love all your layers & such wonderful colors. Nothing like changing things up and wa-la a masterpiece!:)
WOW! This is absolutely gorgeous!!! Love that amazing butterfly and how you set the photo on its wing. Love all the layering and stitching. What an amazing work of art you have created!!!
this is absolutely magical and so very creative, Melissa! Love all the layers and the stitching! Love the comment about cutting them off of the ugly sofa-I have so many photos like that-thanks for the inspiration; I definitely need to do more photo cutting! I know what you mean about the MS punches; I have gotten a couple with gift cards and really like Swirling Lace. There's a vine one I've seen on some layouts that I like a lot.
Very creative and almost like a fairy tale. Melissa-I don't know the story of the park stone bridge. There are steps and what looks like an old pool or fountain. Might be from the WPA era but I could find no history about it.
Very pretty beading and flowers. Gorgeous hand painted rose - pretty butterflies. I like how you cropped the pic and placed it on the butterfly wing - creative!
I really like your hand-painted rose in the bottom left and the two texture paste butterflies. It's a neat idea to have the subjects of the photo riding on the wings of a butterfly. And your green beads on the white string and your stitching look pretty.
Wow, talk about creativity! Love this butterfly idea! Sewing the beads on is genius! I just now, received the MS punch I really wanted! I have some, but they just weren't what I really liked. It's the punch around the page Wildflowers punch. And yes they are expensive! I have already used the corner punch!
Hi Melissa, your painting skills are as wonderful as your scrapping skills! I totally agree with you on the punch-around-the-page punches. I want one, but none of them have seemed worth the price yet. Great page!
THIS IS SUPER CRAZY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU are one talented lady, my friend <<<<<<<< I'm going to visit your gallery. Great cutting idea. I'm going to fix one on purpose!!!!!!!!!! A FAVE!!!!!!!!!!
Gorgeous LO - love all those butterflies - not you've really done it - instead of inspiring me to use things I've got around the house, you've inspired me to order that beautiful Bo Bunny Gabrielle collection ~
My sister in law and her niece. Im so embarrassed this took so long. The pink rose at the bottom left is a watercolor. Originally it also included a plastic cup on a glass table. I painted it in the mid 90s. The big butterfly didn't look right somehow on top of the cup, so I cut the painting up. I couldn't get pink flowers, and I have a fair amount, to look right with the teal. I really tried too, to limit the bling factor. Cutting up the photo wasn't a problem, they were sitting on a brown sofa that matched my husbands recliner. Thankfully someone was kind enough to take the sofa later on. I did a lo with my dh in the chair 2 los ago. Its his "Frasier" recliner. I really get a kick out of using things that have been laying around for ten years, and that I keep coming across when I go through stuff. Hm, can I use this? Yay, maybe I can! I only have one ms punch around the page , and it turned out I didn't like it, so this is my version here. I used a bunch of little ones. I did buy some peach flowers, theres one at the lower right. I bought 3 kinds of lace after really liking the lavender lace on matching ppr on my last lo. I didn't use any though. Also, the rose watercolor was done in my mother in laws backyard, where I picked the rose. The butterflies on the right are texture paste, then painted with lumier paints, and outlined with a gel pen. The beads on the right edge, and on the top ppr, are sewn on. There are two mother of pearl flowers, one above the watercolor rose, and one on the far right side. Theyre from my friend Quick Silver. I'll be using the ms punches when I get some. Its hard to decide which one, theyre pretty expensive to buy one and then not like it.
