These are the group portrait and dress rehearsal pics from one of Cassie's 9 dances in her 2011 recital -- one of two by her modern class. This dance was to Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri. This group of 12-14 year old girls did an incredible job with an emotionally mature song - it was a movingly choreographed and performed dance.

I always do a single page LO for each of her individual portraits that I try to match to the costume and song and a coordinating 2 page LO for the group portrait and action shots. I decided back when she first started having multiple dances in the shows not to try and reinvent the wheel each time, so they all have this format - group shot on the left and action shots arranged across the rest of the 2 pages with pp's and embellies that match the single portrait. You can see the single portrait LO for this dance as well as my other completed dance LO's in my Dance LO Album in my Gallery.

The white heart print pp and the red torn piece are mulberry paper. The mat is a red lame paper. The red flourishes and black edges are on a 12x12 transparency. Some photos are under it and some are over. I made the foil heart 'broken' by cutting it apart in a zigzag. I used black brads in the center of the three largest butterflies, which I punched from red faux suede paper and are on top of the transparency, to help hold everything together. The journaling is on punched vellum under the transparency and includes the class level, teacher, day & time of the class, and the names of the girls in the dance. I also wrote her teacher's dedication from the program: "To these dancers, you girls have made me so proud! You're strong, you can make it through anything!"
