awww... this is tooo cute! I love how you made a closure with one of the swivels. the photo on that card is priceless.. I had to go back and look after reading the inside of the card, I hadnt even realized there was a bucket on his head! :) thanks for sharing.. good luck!
Here is my June scrap pack challenge. I didn’t have an actual photograph I liked well enough to use. However, I did know that I wanted to do this layout on one of my best friends, Andrea. She gave me this card last year on my birthday. This has got to be one of the best cards I have gotten from a friend for my bday… It describes her and I all too well.
The journaling inside the card reads:
This is my favorite card I think I have ever received for a birthday! It shows all too well the humor you and I share with each other. From the time we met at Buechner Hall almost 8 years ago, we have been inseparable. We have had lots of good times and bad (yikes!). We’ve shared happy moments together, cried together, shared secrets. laughed hysterically together, taken road trips together, Through those 8 years we’ve remained close friends. Andrea, you are one of my best friends… you mean the world to me….. thank you.
The supplies: I used DCVW cs and My Mind’s Eye pp (kaleidoscope)
2 bamboo skewers - at the fold in the card Bingo card – sanded down and placed inside the card behind journaling Sand paper – used to sand Bingo card down Index tab – used at top to hold date 4 MM gold mini brads – 2 on left of card, 2 on right(one is actually on the card itself) 2 MM brads – used in lower right to attach measuring tape ribbon, brown polka dot ribbon and tear apart tickets Red acrylic paint –used to stamp date in index tab (looks smudged – that’s where it photomerged together) Measuring tape ribbon – lower right hand corner top layer – used walnut ink to ink back of ribbon – frayed edges of ribbon Brown polka dot ribbon – lower right hand corner middle layer – placed in between using back (the dots didn’t fit into the layout the way I wanted) Black satin ribbon – I frayed the edges of ribbon, and it is used to hold card, bamboo sticks and snap swivels Walnut ink – used on the edges of all papers, on the back side of 2 tear apart tickets (lower right hand corner bottom layer), the paper inside the index tab, the back of the measuring tape ribbon, also using a sponge to drag it diagonally across the card stock to really show off the texture. K&Co letters – I used 13 of them in “you & me” “friends” 3 brass snap swivels – 2 on left of card to attach card to layout, one on the right of the card to act as a hook to hold the card closed tear apart tickets- I used 2 tear apart tickets on the lower right hand corner bottom layer – I used the back of them and inked them with the walnut ink
