I made this for one of my brothers who is turning 60 this month! I just realized that as I was making it! Where do the years go??? The inside says "For someone who's turning 60 you sure keep the gears running smooth! Have an AWESOME birthday! As a side note, I have added the number 60 in the lower right but just didn't change the photo of the card!
I got the cog from some chippies at the local craft store and used my eggshell mosaic technique learned from Gabrielle Pollacco's tutorial. I've made several different things using that technique and hope to get enough made to sell on my etsy site CherishedTokens. Anyway, I used Tim Holtz alcohol inks, added a little Perfect Pearls and Glossy Accents to lock it all in.
Distressed the edges of my papers and inked them in with TH vintage photo. The little chain pieces on the banner are also from Craft Warehouse. I just cut the chain into small pieces to use on the card.
Paper used is My Mind's Eye - Abbey Road Stomp "Brothers" Caveman double-sided paper
I think the lock and key are Spare Parts but I'm not sure. Didn't find it on this site and didn't keep the packaging (unfortunately). They are very good quality heavy metal pieces.
