Outside the Maritime Museum we boarded a hop-on hop-off bus and returned to the ship.

We had one hour before we had to be on board and there were shops and gift shops set up throughout the port building. Since we bought so many things yesterday in port we were not planning on shopping in Halifax. In fact I was surprised that Bill bought me the t-shirt at the museum.

As we were walking through the port building Bill spotted a little shop which specialized in Swarovski crystals so we stopped to look. Right now I'm wearing my new Swarovsky arola bourdelas starfish pendant and matching earrings Bill picked out and bought for me. Absolutely stunning!

Once we returned to the ship we were notified that Saint John, New Brunswick had been added as another port for us to visit.

The ship's entertainment that night was the Beatle Maniacs and they were actually very good. We enjoyed hearing the old Beatles songs from our early high school days. They even looked a good bit like the famous Liverpool band.

At the end of the show one of the Beatle Maniacs said, “It was the Beatles who made Magical Mystery Tour famous but this cruise is the real Magical Mystery Tour!” which got a great laugh from all the passengers because we really don't know where we will be from one day to the next. Seems that almost every day the itinerary changes. For the rest of the cruise all the passengers referred to our cruise as the “Magical Mystery Tour” because the itinerary changed every day!

As much as it was weird having different ports every day rather than what was on the schedule, I'm very glad our captain made the decisions that were made. Princess cruise lines did a great job of keeping us safe from Hurricane Sandy. We were supposed to arrive in New York the same day that Sandy arrived but our Captain kept us nice and safe in the seaway in Canada seeing extra Canadian ports. We did not feel the first ripple of water or first wave from the hurricane - we had completely smooth sailing. One of the Norwegian ships was not so lucky - their company let them go right into New York the day of the hurricane. They had to sail out to sea a bit and drop anchor until the hurricane safely passed. From what we heard, it was rough ride for them, they did not have a good time at all sitting at sea in the waters that were so rough from the hurricane.

Thank you Princess Cruise Lines!
