Wow, what a story to document! Unusual thing happen in every family, if they had only been written down. I love this photo of him, very distinguished and like the way you did your journaling.
My paternal grandmother's father, Elmer Fenimore. He 1st married Mary "Idella" Oller and after she died he married her sister. She was a piece of work according to the family. She made him move her back to Iowa, after which she commenced to complain and just make life miserable for Elmer. So much so that his sons-in-law and only son went to Iowa while she was away and got Elmer and his things and moved him back to Missouri.
While I know there are always two sides to a story it seems she was an unhappy person. I like to think that maybe before her first husband died she was not that way.
To me it appears to be a marriage of convenience as both their spouses had died.
My Dad remembers this story from his grandfather and father who was one of the sons-in-law that went to get Elmer in Iowa.
