Using Calendar pages from snapncrop.com also Mosaic Moments Grids in Bold Bright colors I have created an album that is ready for the photos to be cut and pasted into places already reserved for them. The Calendar side records the "baby's firsts" and important events and can accommodate 1-1/4"sized photos on the calendar as well. Plenty of room for journaling the details.
