Boy, has it been forever since I last posted a LO, a Heritage LO at that. I've been thinking about this LO for quite some time. It is of my grandmother with her younger brother and their horse, King. The photo is of very poor quality so I took a close-up of the photo. I'm not one to be satisfied much with my LOs (I seem to be my worst critic), but I am rather fond of how this one turned out, although it truly looks much better IRL. I did a bunch of fussy cutting (corner birds and around edges of top sheet).
My grandmother and her family were farmers in rural Western Wisconsin. In fact, she married a farmer (Grandpa Ed) who was actually a neighbor. I found this photo stuck in a 3-ring binder of the Horsager Genealogy. My aunt has the original. Even tho the strip of color paper to the left of the photo looks black, it is actually a port wine color and is velvety to the touch. The milk cap in the lower left is a true milk cap used on bottles way back when. I was very lucky to nab a handful of these caps at a junk dealer. :) Thank you for taking a bit of precious time to look at my recent upload. Have a terrific day!
