This is my catch-all page for September 2009. I usually do a page for each month with all the odds and ends that don't fit into any other lo's. For 2009, I'm also including each month's birthstone, flower, and astrological signs just for fun. My January through August LO's are in my gallery (2009 Album & Month LO's in 'albums'), where you can also see the themes I used/am using for 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2013.

I chose blue for the base of this LO for the September birthstone - Sapphire. I stamped and heat embossed the 'stitched' border and the Prima calendar stamp (on vellum). The September flower is the Morning Glory. I made mine by stamping a 5 petaled flower on blue cs as a base then freehand cutting the rounded pentagon shape around the stamped image. I scored lines for the petal divisions, used Stardust pens and Glimmer mist to fill in the centers, and shaped them while they were wet from the mists. I used my quilling tool to curl some tendrils to go with the punched leaves. The gems and brads are all blue for sapphires. The scalloped circle lists the books I read that month as part of my project to read the 100 Greatest Books Ever Written: Rights of Man by Thomas Paine and The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam.
