This months theme for the ATC challenge at Dusty Attic is 'Flying High' ....I thought I would go with a grunge/shabby-chic contrast. I went for a grungy background and the wings and heart I wanted to be light and airy in a shabby style. For the background I used some corrugated card, painted it silver but wanted to add a rustiness to it....BUT....I didn't have any of the rust medium so I thought I'd make my own. So I used....wait for it.....cinnamon! lol! Yep! It worked!! I added a little extra silver paint at the edges (you could use glue or clear gloss instread) and sprinkled on some cinnamon. Then I gave it a quick little spritz of hairspray to set the cinnamon powder so that it doesn't come off the project. You can see the effect a little better in the step out photo below :)

Products used:
Dusty Attic chipboard: Mini Corners #2, Name Plate #4, Wings, Corrugated card, Dusty In Color paint - Fine Silver, Dusty Attic Clear Crackle Varnish, on the heart design.

For more close-ups and info on this ATC you can check out my blog at http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.ca/2013/11/dusty-attic-november-atc-theme-flying.html

Thanks for having a peek! xoxo
