Definitely a Croton, very waxy and glossy. They grow over here in the warmer parts of Aus.

Nah it's a Croton. They have a large variety of colors and leave shapes. These grow really well over in our part of Australia. The Protea flower is kinda cone shape and looks something like a toilet brush.

We use those in landscaping here in Florida, they give us a beautiful pop of color! I think we have more orange and brown in ours, the red is pretty:)

I used to have one, but that was years ago...it was a houseplant and grew quite big; loved the multi coloured leaves...but cannot recall the name!! But it is definitely not a protea...which is an exotic flower that is beyond gorgeous!!!! Another fabulous shot!
