Another fabulous LO. The comment on the candlestick made me laugh. It was all so proper back then. Re the silverware, I was always told to put glasses onto the table upside down when setting the table. I to, would love to have the chance to sit with your albums and a cuppa or 2 and follow your journeys ..
This album must be so much fun to sit and look at all at once - I love the pages you are doing for this trip and that you are really using your photos. So many people seem to weed out the majority of the pics they take and leave only a few representative photos to use on their LO's, and I will never understand that.
I blew the picture way up and the silverware is upside down! I learned something new. I never heard of that before! This place is gorgeous inside - so many canopy beds! Just beautiful - I always wanted a canopy bed when I was a teenager! Very interesting about the candle! The mats are perfect for his layout and I love the buttons on here! They are a nice finishing touch and they go perfectly!
We caught our tour of inside the mansion. The paintings are Jacques Roman and his wife, Celina. He had the big house built for her around 1836. The candlestick is a courtship tradition. If the Father liked the beau, he could turn the candle up so the couple could have more time together or less if he didn’t. The lady in the hoop skirt was our tour guide. You will notice the silverware is upside down. It was the tradition of setting the table during that time.
This is for the hoarder's challenge. I have had the heirloom papers for a long time as well as the buttons.
