These are my children, the first time ever looking at snow! We went to be with my family in Washington state over Christmas, and we were hoping, but not expecting snow. I grew up with snow, so I was so excited when I realized it began to snow a few days after Christmas! I wrote the journaling, and I don't know what to do with it. I think I'm going to put it on the back.

I did the journaling a little bit differently. I did it from my point of view, but still writing it for the kids. It reads:

We were going to Mam-ma’s and Pap-pa’s cabin that morning, and as I lay in bed in my old room debating whether or not I was ready to get up, I turned over and glanced out of the window of the bedroom that I lived in for 2 ½ years in High School. From my old bed, I could see the roof of the house behind us. I remember looking at that same roof 12 years ago. During the winter months, without even having to get out of bed, I could always tell one thing from that roof, whether or not it had snowed. The roof this particular morning was white, which actually could have meant one of two things, either it was just frost, or it had really snowed. I started to get excited but I didn’t want to get my hopes up because I knew it hadn’t snowed in Kennewick during that part of the season for several years. I slowly got up out of my warm bed and made it towards the window. Was it snow?

“Honey! Honey! It’s snowing! The kids get to see snow!” I whispered loudly, shaking Daddy awake. I was so excited for the two of you, you had never seen snow. I had grown up with snow, and I wanted you two to experience the same joys that I did. Daddy got out of bed and looked out of the window, “Let’s wake them up! I want to see their faces,” he said.

We led you to the window and told you to look outside, “What’s that?” we asked you. “It’s raining,” you answered. “No, it’s snowing! This is snow!” You looked at us, and then outside again, not truly understanding what snow actually was, “It’s snowing,” you said. You had seen it in books and on TV and we had talked about it, and slowly it was starting to sink in. You were starting to get excited. By that time, Noah was looking out of the window next to you, “Noah,” you said to him, “it’s snowing!” You were about to discover something brand new, something that up until this moment, was only read about in stories or seen on television, and now, you were about to experience this whole new world of snow.

This layout is Micah's. I'm doing another one that is similar for Noah, I have a great picture of him by himself with him touching the window! I used Stickopotomus snowflake stickers, and am not sure I care for the glitter. I wanted to add a little something where I tore the paper and white chalk just didn't show up. Part of me likes it, the other part isn't so sure... I put the stickers on the white background, and tore out frames in the blue to accent a few other snowflakes I placed on the page. I printed the pictures out in black and white because I wanted everything to look soft and pretty. I've been in a scrapping slump, and I keep thinking I'm getting out of it. I have been working on this for several days, which is is how long it used to take me when I first started scapping!

My scanner cut off a bit on the left side, so it does look more even in person. Thanks for looking (and letting me go on and on and on...)!
