The bg paper (and photos) really was a stroke of genius in giving your LO a sense of history. How smart are you to incorporate the old with the current. I'm learning so much from your LO about Scotland. Keep them coming!!!
Wow what a magnificent monument and you did an awesome job scrapping it too! Thanks for sharing the story that goes with it too. Its nice to see and hear about other things going on in world.
the background on the left is a blowup of a photo taken in the 1800's and the background on the right is my own turned sepia taken today. The gates are still there. The journalling refers to the large monument on the right page - it is a tribute and the last resting place of 2 weavers who were leaders of the 1820 Rising - Scottish Reform and Freedom are still alive here and we will vote on a separation referendum later this year. They were execute for treason in 1820 - hanged and beheaded - I am in awe that this still happened only that short time ago.
