Well, here's my first layout of the year and it sure didn't turn out as I had envisioned! I'm still not sure I'm happy with the end result. I just love this picture of the boys when they were little with their little animal houseshoes sitting in the middle of a train track!

First, I knew I wanted to keep the background paper opened enough to see it because I just love it. Second, I wanted to use the blue papers and do a folding design as inspired by Marilyn Rivera and Gabrielle Pollacco. The paper is thick cardstock and even though I misted it with water it is about 1" thickness finished. It just sort of took on a life of its own! The twine flowers I made from a Tracey Sabella tutorial (thanks Tracey). The little ladybugs and dragonfly were shank buttons I've had since the boys were about this age. I cut off the shanks to apply them to this page. The little butterfly is a photo of the actual thing that I printed out on my Print Shop program and fussy cut around it.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I'd be glad for any pointers you might have!
