Give a Cheer
Middle School Solo & Ensemble Festival scored First Division for their grade. This is their first time competing in this event. They get evaluated and critiqued.
Alex had been sick with walking pneumonia for the two weeks prior to the event. He was only back in school two days before this day. He had very little time to practice. They knocked it out with style!
I used craft paper with foil accents. I wanted their photos to stand out. The day was a complete white out blizzard so I added the snowflakes. The next one, in the spring, is full orchestra rather than the duets.
I used my silhouette to make the frames and welded lettering or music notes to them. The I love music symbol is also a silhouette print and cut feature done in a black to white fade.
In the style of FOUND objects, I used my Dunkin Donuts coffee cup wrapper as a back drop to the "Solo & Ensemble" title. I loved the embossed texture and knew I had to use it for something.
