This is a layout of my Godmother, Connie, in 1950 when she was 4 years old. I decorated this while thinking about a little girl who had only make believe as play – no computer games or ipads; just good ole stuffed animals and dolls…..and plenty of pretend and make believe….like giant mushrooms, glitter butterflies, flowers galore, pearls and shiny things. This photo is Connie on the front porch of their country home. Notice the neighbor’s house with the fan in the window – no A/C and this is in the deep south of Louisiana where it gets really hot. But, the sparkle in Connie’s eyes tells me she was a little ‘ham’ and very happy with her toys.
I used Kaisercraft’s “Enchanted Garden” paper and fussy cut the glitter butterflies from the small paper pad in the collection, as well as used mushrooms (raised one with foam dots) & the flags that make this LO title from the Collectibles that come with this paper collection. I glued the words “Cutie Pie” inside the aqua frame from Webster’s Pages. This may just be a ‘southern saying', but Connie really IS a cutie pie in this photo! You could just go up and pinch those cheeks! The mini Retro Flower punch was used to make the tiny aqua flowers. The yellow flourish that supports these tiny flowers is a D-Lite die cut from EK Success. The flowers and other embellishments on this page come from an array I have, including Michael’s Arts and Crafts store & Wild Orchid Crafts, a British supplier. I really like the almost tie-dyed looking Prima flowers that are named "Groovy". They are precious! Thank you so very much for taking time to view my layout, which made for a very enjoyable day for me! Have a wonderful day! Lisa
