The next day we decided to visit the San Isabel
national forest, particularly the ghost town of St. Elmo. The drive up the mountainside was winding and at times we were very thankful for our trusty SUV! Once we reached St. Elmo, we got the dogs out and walked around to check out the amazing landscape and of course, take photos!
Later that afternoon, we visited the local winery gift shop, where we were able to sample a variety of locally made grape, cherry, and apple wines. The shop also contained local art and jewelry. We bought Christmas gifts for both moms as well as several of the Mountain Spirit wines.
Overall, we had a good trip and it was really nice to be able to go together as a family on vacation.
