a layout without photos, detailing those stories & sayings we ALL have that are passed down. each flap lifts up to reveal journalling. I apologize in advance for the long posting :)
Laugh before 7 - whenever we woke my parents up early in the morning laughing, my mom would come charging into the room and say 'laugh before 7, cry before 11!' sure enough, by 11am at least one of us had gotten a beating and tears were flowing.

Don't kill yourself: my morbidly obese uncle Joe was sitting on the sofa, watching my aunt struggle with groceries. Instead of helping, he said 'Don't kill yourself. Make TWO trips!' ever since then, whenever anyone is struggling, we blurt out that phrase, making it a true family heirloom!

Nothing good happens: Whenever the evening news reported a late night crime, my mom would mutter' Nothing good happens after midnight'. she was right!

You're going to kill us all: my father was crazy behind the wheel! If any of us acted up in the backseat, he would spin around, flailing, trying to hit anyone he could reach. We'd be swerving all over the road! My mother would be screaming 'Dammit, Al, You're going to kill us all!!!'

Not in the head: My father was a very physical disciplinarian and never missed a chance to show it. Instead of stopping it, my mother would stand there and yell, 'Not in the head, you want to make her crazy?!!'
What therapy?? :)
