What a lovely job you did on this layout Joyce. Your flowers turned out so pretty and I love your technique work. It sounds like you had a wonderful mom-in-law. I was blessed to have mine and I knew her all my life, which was a real bonus! I really like your vine and journaling tags too.
My mother in law was the best!! As a widow with two toddlers, she moved to a new town. Eventually she remarried and had three more sons and a daughter. She had beautiful flower gardens. A large bay window in her dining room was the winter home for the many pots she kept outside during warm weather. In the summer, she tended her vegetable garden and also had strawberries and blackberries. As a teen she loved tennis and basketball, and was a competitive swimmer and diver winning many medals. Back in "the day" she had a cb radio. Her handle was "Fisher Lady". She loved fishing in nearby ponds, streams and the lake. Hunting was another hobby, except she didn't enjoy killing animals. Dogs and cats were always welcomed, many of them strays. Once she brought in an injured crow. It wasn't long before he was well and talking better than her big parrot!! She was a great cook, we enjoyed many delicious meals at her kitchen table. She did so much for us thru the years, we miss her. I experimented with sculpey and created the hearts and diamonds next to the photo. I also used my tattered florals dies and cut the flower from a brown paper bag. The upper right corner is a gem from a broken earring. The green frond is from "preserving the past", thank you Marcia!
