This was a tough Mother's day this year. It' has been one year and one month since I lost mine.

The journaling inside the envelope reads:

It's been one year and one month since losing you from our lives. I have missed you every day of that. When we moved, all I could think of was all the times you were there with me, helping me "MAKE HOUSE" as you called it. I unpacked my Gumbo pot and could only cry. Home was never home until you made that first batch. I can still see your sparkling blue eyes as you flittered around blurting out random song lyrics. No matter what we did there was always a "Mama's song". Now I find myself doing the same thing and hearing the boys ask me "Mom, is that really a song?"
