Donna, you did a great job on this vintage layout, even if you don't like to do them! I'm impressed. Loved the story, the papers and all the embellies! So cool!
Really Donna, you don't like to do them? You do vintage so beautifully! This is soo amazing! & Looks absolutely perfect! Great work. Thanks for sharing that wonderful story with us~
stunning! You ended up doing it because of the love for your family! Wow gorgeous and I love how all of the details tell a story. Don't let him throw that suitcase out. If he ever decides to get rid of it you will need to keep it and put scrappy supplies in it...that way every time you look at it the memories will be there.
Congratulations on a first class lo! I am so glad you used this pic of your dad and telling us his story! What an awesome legacy for your dad. Glad to hear both your parents are alive and well!
You've done a fantastic job of this layout, even if you don't like doing vintage! Your father certainly dressed well, and I love how all the ephemera has been carefully chosen to "suit" the story behind the photo.
Hey Donna! If you don't like doing vintage LOs....you need to reconsider because you do a FABULOUS job with them! OMG! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this LO of your father! How wonderful this is! Boy I wish I had your talent! This is awesome! Great job! You have so many interesting elements in this! WOW! I LOVE the leather tassel! WOW! You ALWAYS place everything PERFECTLY on your pages. Unbelievable! Definite FAV of mine!

This is vintage fabulous! So super stunning! Every last detail is right on, perfect for it's time! Going right into my faves! Love this a million times over!!!
My father always dressed sharp. He worked for Stix, Baer, and Fuller (for those of you " young" enough to remember that) before it became Dillard's. He worked in the men's suits department back in the day where being the best salesman mattered and was rewarded monetarily and with awards and trips. He worked for them when he was 16 until he retired. That is why I thought some of the paper fit this layout so well. I had some men in suits also, but as usual ran out of room! lol I also think of post cards and suitcases because we were lucky enough when I was growing up to go on family vacations every year. Back then, we sent postcards to our friends and families while on vacation! We also had binoculars to use on the many day trips he took us on. He still uses the same old brown suitcase when they travel to visit my brother in CA. I am very blessed, both of my parents are 80 and doing great!
I am not sure how I ended up doing a vintage layout! I don't like to do them.
