Emily's challenge for the Freestyle blog this week was a kitchen sink challenge – to use items found in the kitchen. I reached to the back of the junk drawer and found paintchips and a baby food jar full of miscellaneous hardward. I sanded the edges of the paintchips and created the backgrounds to the right of the page and the embellished squares along the left. I painted washers/some smaller metal rings with gesso and stitched into place on the paintchips on the right. For the squares on the left I used two hooks to create a heart shape, large screws, an assortment of hangers/clips, and nails – painted white with embroidery floss stitching detail on the squares.

The photo is of my dad and Summer Lily (2.5 yrs old), while SL was power sanding the stoop to her bedroom when we were refinishing it. The paintchips were left overs from trying to choose the paint colours. :)

Bazzil cardstock. Rhonna Farrer patterned paper, epoxy photo corners. FoofaLa tag, letter stickers. Metal hardware, paint chips, embroidery floss, Sakura pen, gesso.

tfl!
Enjoy your day :)
Ashley.
