A layout about one of our favorite experiences in Thailand, a cooking class. When I started the page I only had the one top journaling card, and thought I might write more directly on the background paper if needed. But when I thought about how much I had to say about this experience and what a great ‘souvenir’ it's been since we now cool Thai food at home regularly, I knew I needed more journaling space. I didn't have much more room in my page design at that point, so I decided to just layer more cut-apart cards (~3x4 each) in the place my original single journal card was. I wrote out my journaling on card after card until I was done, then went back to see how to keep them together on the page. Because I really liked the design of the top card layered over the green stripe underneath it, I decided not to put them all in a pocket of some kind. Instead, I pierced a hole in the upper left corner of each card, and tied them together with green floss thread. (A jump ring would also work but I couldn't find one). Then to keep the little booklet of cards on the page, I used two Basic Grey magnet pairs - one in the upper left under the bow, attaching the back of the stack to the base page & one in the bottom right, but this time the too magnet is under the top layer of the booklet (with the bottom magnet on the base page again) - the magnet is strong enough that it holds the booklet closed as well as stuck on the page. I am really excited with how it turned out! And with the magnets, it's easy to take the journaling off the page and read it more easily.
