Since I did this reorganization of my scrap space, I am so much more productive! I love all my sterilite drawer units. To answer some of the questions I have been asked about my space: This is actually our guest room! In the other corner of the room is a twin bed. The closet is used for general storage as well as for some scrap storage. I wasn't always this organized! I recently decided that I needed to organize so I could work more efficiently since my time became more limited after the birth of our daughter in May 2003. I had a scrap space set up before that but was always hauling stuff to the kitchen table instead of using my scraptable! I finally realized that I didn't like sitting at my table because I had the wall in my face. So angling the table out into the room solved that and now I work there all the time! I accumulated a lot of supplies because I worked in two different scrap stores in 2000-2001 and so was buying things at a discount! And also everyone knows that scrap stuff always makes a good gift for me….LOL Plus I have to admit, I buy a lot of stuff myself! Anyway, it got to the point where I was overwhelmed with stuff and couldn't find anything and it was really interfering with being able to get anything done! So the first step of organizing was to purge stuff I knew I would never use so that I could find the stuff I will use. Some of it went as a gift to a 13yo cousin and I am still deciding what to do with the rest of the discards. Probably will have a swap/sale with some friends. Then I got all the plastic drawers. Some of them are organized by topic of embellishment - baby, floral, beach, etc - and some by type of supply - adhesive, pens, etc. My 2 drawer file cabinet has hanging files with my letter stickers and my letter sized paper in it. I have the CH files (3 of them!) for my 12by12, with solid cardstock, colored patterned paper and themed patterned paper each in one of them. Then I have a legal size hanging file crate for stickers and items too large to fit in my themed plastic drawers. Also I have another legal hanging file crate for scraps. My punches and some of my metal embellishments are in a hardward organizing drawer unit on the bookcase shelf. I lined the clear drawer fronts with black cardstock scraps and mounted white samples of the punches that are in each drawer so I can see at a glance what my choices are! I can't believe how much more efficiently I work since doing this organization! It was well worth the time effort and expense!
