This is quite an emotional layout for me to do as its about my son's first cochlear implant. Due to the seriousness of the subject, I wanted a fairly muted palette and started with the patterned background paper. I then added grey and pale yellow and just a splash of yellow. I tried to lead the eye across the page with the red washi. The yellow washi and the photo clips are repeated in a visual triangle. I keep the title muted as I wanted all the emphasis to be on the photos and journalling.
