First of all, let me say that I was trying to do this area on a budget and I think I was pretty successful. We have J's, M's, ACM's all nearby and coupons weekly. Therefore, I rarely purchase ANYTHING without a coupon. We do rent, and aren't allowed to hang anything on the walls or paint. If it were my house, I might do it differently. I also have the challenge of having sloped walls. Luckily, my IRIS carts fit.picture 1: view rounding the corner into my scrap area.picture 2: view as you go up the stairs approaching the area. We rent and aren't allowed to do much in our apartment at all. I have always hated coming up the stairs and seeing the ugly lattice. Bill made me some hooks in about 5 minutes and I was able to hang these pictures. Now I smile as I go up the stairs!picture 3: panning left this is what you see.picture 4: further left, the “kids” side of the roompicture 5: closeup of the top of my desk. The black set of drawers: top drawer= new stuff, middle drawer= stencils(coluzzle, etc.), bottom drawer= punches. My 8.5x11 cardstock is sorted by color in office trays with my Carl cutter on top. The left set of drawers contain stickers, die cuts, tools and specialty papers (vellum). The “desk” itself is an old drafting table left behind by the previous tennant. Below it I have two full Cropper Hopper photo storage cases. The paper taker is full of scraps sorted by color. It was a bargain at Target!picture 6: closeup of right side of desk. The yellow case is from Home Depot and used to contain screws and nails. It now contains most of my embellishments. Bill made me the ribbon holder (again in about 5 minutes). The basket contains other spools of ribbon and loose pieces. The marker set was bought clearance at Joann's with a 50% off coupon for only $8!picture 7: fiber storage in a DMC floss case. I got all of these fibers in a swap!picture 8: metal letter storage. Containers from Joann's clearance for only $1 each! I sorted by letter after the frustrating process of trying to dump out the individual containers looking for that one letter only to have to put them all back.picture 9: closeup of left side of desk. The tall tower of drawers was from Kmart for $10. It contains most of my tools, stamps, enlargements and memorabilia I have collected to put in my books.picture 10: side wall. I faced a unique challenge in that the walls are sloped. My Iris carts fit perfectly and were on sale at Target.picture 11: closeup of side wall. Iris carts hold letter stickers, word stickers, metals, foam stamps, embossing supplies. The left two carts also hold my teacher supplies. Note: I have still not figured out the cheapo sewing machine and never used it.picture 12: closeup of letter punches I got at ACMoore when on clearance. I talked the manager into 50% off the clearance price if I bought the whole set. I got them for about $50.picture 13: closeup of wooden organizer that is supposed to hold VHS tapes. It was $1 at the church rummage sale. My daughter sorted all of my doubles into envelopes and organized them so that she and her brother can scrap them.picture 14: closeup of the kids' desk. It is a scrapbook station from Joann's. A birthday gift for my kids from grandma.picture 15: another picture of the kids side. The bookcase at the left is on the back side of thelattice coming up the stairs. It holds our magazines, idea books, photoboxes and the kids supplies. Thanks for looking!:) Kristin
