This is my most cherished possession. It isn't worth much money wise but worth more than gold to me.It is a little vase (flowers originally came in the back of her dress - there is an opening back there). On my 8th birthday, my dad came home from work with flowers for both me and my mom (I was born on her birthday). I felt so grown up - I was getting flowers - it meant I was a real grown lady now (at least I thought so). They were so special because they were my first flowers and they were from my daddy. He said he bought her because she kind of looked like me (and she did)After the flowers died, my mom (who doesn't like clutter) tossed her in the trash - I wouldn't have any of that and dug her out. She didn't press the matter and let me keep her. Month's later, she tried again and I rescued her again.A few years later, my mom figured I out grew her so she tossed her and I noticed her missing right away. This time when I dug her out, she was cracked - so I just glued her back together (you can still see the crack). Mom knew I had NO intentions of ever getting rid of my special vase. She held more than flowers, she held a very special memory for me.Next year, this vase will be 40 years old - my mother is still amazed I have held onto this for 40 years but my dad says it makes him smile when he sees it.I love her and it makes me happy every time I look at her.
