This is a LO I did about my nephew Cooper. PP - Wild Asparagus. Tape, green rub ons - Heidi Swapp. Patterned twill - Foofala. Red rub ons, staples - MM. Journaling: I’ll admit I’m a shutterbug. Camera happy. When I capture that perfect shot, I experience a sense of, well, bliss. Photophoria, you could call it. So, imagine my frustration, trying to capture a picture of a busy two year old (at the playground, no less). Cooper would NOT cooperate. I understood that he’d be in constant motion. I got that. But he would not be still…not even for a second. Not only that, he would not look at the camera. He would not smile. He even managed to look annoyed with me. Now, I have been able, at rare times, to catch a good shot of Cooper at play. This was not the day. I followed. I persisted. I plead. But he was definitely not interested. I finally gave up and let him be.When I got home from vacation and looked at these pictures, it really hit me that while I was only mildly frustrated at the time… he didn’t look like he was having fun at all. Up to the point where I started and right after I stopped taking pictures, he had a great time. I wonder why?? DUH. Quality time with Cooper is hard to come by. Living so far away, I miss a lot. When I look at these pictures I am quite firmly reminded that I need to put the camera down from time to time and participate in more of these fleeting moments. What good is that feeling of “photophoria” if I’ve missed out on the greater chance to get to know my nephew? Good lesson, Coop. Thanks buddy. (Sorry about the subpar scan.) TFL!
