How my brother got engagedJournaling is inside the book on the right page:It all started about two weeks ago. I had a dream. It went like this: A friend of mine went to Laura and asked her what she thought about me and then came to me and told me that she said that she was just waiting for me to ask her to marry me. Well it was a short dream, but I told Laura about it. She thought it was “Interesting.” Anyway I guess that started our talking about what we were thinking about our future. Time went on and that weekend you guys moved and I went up to Laura's house for the weekend. That was a lot of fun and I got to know her family more, and Laura too. I got to wake her up in the morning too. That was a lot of fun seeing her at the breakfast table in her pajamas. Later we went to church together and had a great time. Well, the next day, last Monday, was the first day of classes. I had bought my books and we were reading my homework for Marriage prep. Well on the cover of the Marriage prep book is a Temple Marriage certificate that has all the spaces blank. Well we were talking and then we noticed that and we both were looking at it for awhile. Well we talked about it and I asked her if she thought that one of those could be in our future. At that time we decided that at that moment we both would like for that to be in our future but we weren't really sure about it. So we figured that we would keep it a secret for awhile until we were sure about it. We decided that we would pray about it more and talk about it some more before we made a concrete decision. On Saturday we decided to fast and go to the temple. At the temple the worker asked if Laura was my wife. I said no, then, he asked if we were engaged. I said that we were contemplating it. We had a nice time there. Afterwards we went out of the temple and we went for a walk around to the back where there are a few benches and sat and talked for about 3 hours or so. We talked about a lot of different things. But eventually we decided to pray about getting married together. Well after that we both felt pretty good. I asked Laura what she thought that it meant. She said “I think that it means that we both are going to be very happy.” So I told her that I thought so too and that I couldn't imagine my future without her. So I asked her to stand up. I took her by the hand, knelt down on one knee and I asked her if she would (at this time I got a little emotional) marry me for time and all eternity. Then she got emotional and through her tears said “Yes” about four times. So that's the story. We called Mom and Dad on Sunday night to tell them about it. They were very happy. Laura wanted to wait a little while before we told her family so we waited to tell anyone else. She wanted to warn her parents a little, so it wouldn't be such a surprise. So we went and bought a ring together on Tuesday night, and after that we called her parents and I asked her Dad. He didn't say yes, and he didn't say no, he wanted to meet with me in person and ask me if I would take good care of Laura. He came down and we had a good talk and walk together. We think we will be getting married in december and I can't wait!Fun ideas tips and tricks: I melted color Gule sticks and pressed letter stamps into the hot glue to make the “LOVE” buttons in my title.Patterned Paper: K and ConmpanyCardstock: BazzillRubber Stamps: Peachtree ProductsRubber stamp ink: Slick writterPens: Slick writterComputer fonts: Andy BoldOther: Word Strips by: All my memories Rub-Ons: Making Memories Stickers: Provo Craft Clasp: 7 gyspies Eyelets: Making Memories Rivets: Chatterbox Quote Stickers: Bo-Bunny Press Wire:unknown Alphabet Beads: Unknown Chalks: Craft-T-Products Hot Glue: Sure Bond Stencil Letters: Colorbox Brads: Making Memories Ribbon: Offray
