Chatterbox and die cuts with a view pp, Trim by Wrights, Stencils by x-acto, and crackle paint. Journaling Reads: I came across the name Captain Quack while surfing the internet and I thought it fit our little Ty perfect on Halloween. He is the captain of what a duck says, only he doesn’t think they say quack! Ty spotted this costume hanging on the rack behind some other costumes and the moment I saw it I knew it would be just right for him. He wore it to the Trunk-or-Treat at church, and to the Henderson Halloween Celebration in the park. This was my favorite part of Halloween this year. Ty played carnival type games in order to win candy; there was also entertainment and a huge jack-o-lantern lighting. Everywhere Ty went that night he toted two candy buckets with him; he just had to have two, don’t ask me why!Prior to this we had been working on what a Duck says; and for a while Ty was saying “quack quack” regularly, however right around the time we bought this suit he began to respond “Ba-Ba” every time we asked him what a duck said. Why or how this started I don’t know, however I’m sure that it is related to his speech delay. We are still working on his speech. Some days go well others don’t. As frustrating as this can be, I wouldn’t trade places with any other Mom. Even if Ducks continue to say Ba-Ba for a year I will still think it one of Ty’s cute idiosyncrasies. I don’t know what to expect for the future but I do remember that when I was little I called plums “yumps,” and I eventually grew out of that. Hopefully Ty will also. –Halloween ‘05
