For my turn at the weekly design team challenge at CMK, I challenged members to make a tag book. The rules were easy, the tag book could be any size, as elaborate or as simple as they wanted, and any theme as long as it was just for them~ not about the kids, the hubby, or the dog.As my example I made the above tag book, Wishes and Dreams. I took mat board (like the kind from the framing department at the hobby store) and cut two tag shapes. I used this as my covers and as a template for the inside pages. I made the inner pages from heavier weight cardstock. I used a hinged office ring to hold them all together. I like these rings because they allow me to add and remove pages easily. To me, books like this are an ongoing project and never really finished. I like to come back to them over and over as inspiration strikes. For my theme, I used Wishes and Dreams. I plan to make simple and quick pages with different thoughts and dreams on them. I also plan to use my own handwriting, something I have been challenging myself to do more often. In case you are wondering, the papers used here are by Sweetwater. (Look for a link to them in the right column under my favorite companies). Rub-on lettering on the cover is by Chatterbox. The large eyelet is by Creative Imaginations. The blue metal square (on the cover at the bottom right) is by Pressed Petals. I trimmed out a Sweetwater sticker, applied it to the metal, covered it in Diamond Glaze and then pressed a Swarovski Crystal into the wet DG. The metal corners on the covers are by Maya Road. I didn't show it in the photos, but the inside and back covers are also covered with the same paper as the cover. The blue metal star is by Carolees Creations. The clear flower buttons are by Buttons Galore. Whew! I hope I didn't forget anything! Thanks for looking!
