This was such a fun one to do. This is a gift for my sister's birthday. In the spring we are taking a girls vacation to Sanibel Island Florida. I am planning on making sure we get a photo of us together and made this for her to put it on and remember our great vacation. I started by covering the clipboard with light blue cardstock. I dry brushed blue paint on the cardstock to give it some variance. Next I inked it with distressing ink. I took my patterened paper (the ocean/map paper by Sharon Sonif) and crinkled it up. Then I lit it on FIRE! I burned the edges. Next I soaked the edges in walnut ink. Then I inked the paper on all of the wrinkles. I smothed it out and stuck it on the clipboard with Modge Podge leaving several edges sticking up. I then took liquid glass and put it on all of the spaces around the edge of the clipboard not covered by the patterned paper. I put it up under the edges that were sticking up. On one edge I poured some really fine white sand (I just happened to have) in the liquid glass. I glued mosaic tiles on the metal base of the clip. I made a pocket across the front out of card stock and coastal netting (I think that is what it is called). I tucked a few things into the net. In the pocket is a MM metal plaque and a “97% Complete” 7G tag that is about travel. Hanging from the top clip is a 7G trinket box and a etched Heidi Grace acrylic tag with a set of flip flops on it.The great thing about this project is that everything I used was all things I had on hand, pieces and parts from various kits. It all seemed to just fall into place to make what I think is a really cool clipboard.
