Oh Taryn, what a wonderful memory!!! I love the layout and the journaling...just beautiful...impressed that you have ventured into digi...I still have not done that!!!
Your journaling made me CRY!!!! This was something my parents would have done for me. My mother has been dead for over 10 years but ever so often something touches my heart that makes me quite aware of my loss. I am very thankful that you have such parents. Yea for Christmas, the Firenze Quilt Bag and especially your parents! I want you to tell them for me that I think they are special people! (I also noticed your mom and dd having the tea party.)
Such a sweet story & really cute layout too, love the colors! I broke down a few weeks ago & bought a new comforter set, all new pillows (we keep 6 on our bed!!), and two sets of luxurious sheets. I'd been looking for the perfect set to match our paint, but it was just a Kohl's 1/2 price sale working it's magic on me. It was SOOO worth it. Life is happier with new linens!!!
did this months ago...just messing around w/ digi work
Journaling: In the spring of 2004, I started a quest for a quilt to add a special touch to our bedroom. I spent hours and hours searching online, and must have looked at every quilt at every online store in the country, and the Firenze Quilt in a bag set was by far my favorite.. I am not sure where I saw it first, but I discovered that it was sold at Famous Barr & L.S. Ayres, Target, and Amazon.com. So, I created favorite links to the quilt at all the sites I found and watched every day for it to go on sale. Even at its cheapest, it was more than I felt I should pay at the time. It was actually pretty reasonably priced at around $200 for the whole set, which includes the quilt, 2 pillow shams, 2 pillow cases, sheets, and the dust ruffle. But, I just could not bring myself to spend that much--even though our current sheets were pilling and had holes in them, and our bedspread was raveling too. I kept watching--apparently for some miracle sale, which never happened--every day, and gave Jeremy reports when it went on sale or free shipping was offered. He kept telling me to Just buy it already! But, I did not want to spend money we did not have. So, I put it on my wishlist, and wished and wished...maybe for my birthday? But, we had to get a new computer in the fall, so that was kind of my birthday present. No quilt. In December, I noticed that all of the king size quilts were sold out at every site. I was so sad that I would never have this beautiful quilt that I wanted so badly. On Christmas, after we finished opening all our wonderful gifts, out came Mom & Dad with their traditional save-the-best-for-last big gifts, and I unwrapped my coveted quilt set.
