Random old pic from childhood–a little blurry because it was tiny and I enlarged it. I have no recollection of the picture, so I went with some random memories about eating weeds and flowers. Title reads (in case it doesn't show up: Flower Power: Random memories of weeds and flowers and other summery things. I cropped a little outside the edge so the inking would show up. Journaling:

Summertime brings grass and weeds and flowers. And summertime when you're a kid means you get to eat the grass and weeds and flowers. Or at least it did to us. Sure, we sipped the nectar from the honeysuckle growing by the fence, like most kids do. And we plucked plump purple mulberries from the trees by the woods. We even ate those little weeds that looked to us like miniature beaded strawberries. All seemingly normal summertime eats. I'm not why we decided to pull up that onion grass and take a bite the very first time. Or what possessed us to nibble on the little pods of those clover-looking weeds. How I loved that tangy little squirt that came out when I bit into that pod, and I'd eat the whole clover, too–it had sort of a lemony taste. And when we lived in Bolivia, we'd pull twigs off the trees and spin them between our teeth to make gum. It had a nasty, flavorless taste, but it sure was fun turning twigs into gum. I guess it's a lucky thing I wasn't a big fan of mushrooms back then!

For the DW challenge, I was inspired by Leslie's July 11 page; I stitched the journaling to the page.

Materials - Patterned papers are Basic Grey (flowers) & Prima (dots).
