One for my Story of Us album (that I'm very behind on - yikes!). I wanted to do this one while it was still fresh in my mind. Very inspired by shelbylynn and Ali's printing text right on the photos and wanted to make this feel like we were there again, so I blew up the tree photos since they were our favorite part of the park we went to. Fonts are Angleterre Book, Pegsanna, and 2peas Wedding Day and envelope is from my dear friend, carolynp (thank you!!). Journaling reads: “For Tom’s first Father’s Day, I surprised him with tickets to see Blues Traveler at Ravinia Festival. I had been wanting to go to this outdoor concert hall for so long, but we lived over an hour away from it and just never seemed to find the time to go with the baby, house projects and everyday life. We planned for our friends, the Miragliotta’s, to watch Mackenzie for the night while we had our very first date as new parents. Ravinia is on the north side of Chicago and has acres and acres of beautiful lawn with gorgeous landscaping, including trees that are lit up at night - an awesome sight. You are able to bring in whatever food and drink you like and have a picnic while you enjoy the music. We had debated over what we were going to bring for weeks. We’d heard that people brought anything from wine, cheese, brie, and crackers with candelabras and mini-tables to KFC chicken baskets and cases of beer. We did see quite a few gorgeous picnic baskets full of fancy foods, candles, and wine, and at first, I felt like we should have planned ahead better and packed something similar. But, I quickly realized that when you have good company, sometimes all you need are a couple of Subway sandwiches, some cookies, a thermos of Scotch and a few diet cokes. Although gourmet meals and fancy place settings are lovely, I relish in the fact that Tom and I were happy just being ourselves and enjoying the atmosphere from our lawn chairs. We had such a great time talking, snacking, and hanging out. I hope we enjoy many more nights like this one during our lifetime.” (Left and right sides were chopped in scan.) Thanks so much! Heather
