This page describes how Sebastian came to be a part of our family. This n' that frame wrapped in black ribbon and mounted on black linen cardstock. I stamped/embossed the “M” on the tag (for our last name - Melzer) with my new Stampin' Up classic caps stamp and the font is Emmascript. Journaling reads: “I am so lucky to have a husband that truly wants me to be happy. I’ve never had to fight very hard to get my way, but when it came to getting a dog, I was up for the fight of my life. I grew up with several dogs and have many fond memories of growing up with them in my parents’ home. Our last family dog, Mitzi, passed away shortly after I had moved out of my parents’ house and with Tom and I living in a second floor condo, having a dog of our own just wasn’t feasible. After we got married and started building our own home, I dreamed of getting a dog for our new family. I never imagined raising a family without one. We’d only been in our new home for a couple of months when I was ready to start looking. I felt that we should get a dog before we had kids, otherwise we would never have the time or energy to train it properly. Tom felt that a puppy would absolutely destroy the new home that we had saved for years to build and that we vowed to spend the rest of our lives in. It took weeks for Tom to finally give in and there have been more days than I can count where I’ve wondered whether or not we did the right thing. Lately, though, things have started to change. We now have a six month old daughter that is absolutely in love with our Sebastian and he is now my companion during the day while I work from home. He is very energetic and gets himself into more than his fair share of trouble, but when I see the look on Mackenzie’s face when she hears him romp into the room or when I see Tom and him playing ball in the backyard, I’m reminded of why he’s here. He helps remind us that there’s more to life than having a spotless home and that we should always take time out to have fun and to play. I hope that Mackenzie will remember Sebastian as fondly as I remember the dogs that I grew up playing with as a child, and hope someday she’ll marry someone as sweet and understanding as her Dad is. I am so lucky.” Thanks! Heather
