I lived in Bolivia 3 times as a kid, for a total of about 2 years. I lived in Bolivia three times as kid, for a total of about 2 years. Unfortunately, my parents took no photos. I've been wanting to scrap memories from this part of my life for some time, but just never started because of the lack of photos. This is one of the few photos of that time, in the airport, just before we left (I was 14, almost 15). Journaling reads:

Here we are in the airport in June of 1978, and I think my face says it all. We are moving to Bolivia. Again. This will be the third time we’ve made this journey into the Third World. I am not a happy camper. We are not going to see Gram ever again. We’re leaving friends behind—which feels like a first, since Fairmont Gardens is the first place we’ve ever lived for longer than a year. Mom and Jose are sending us ahead without them so that they can stay behind and make money for whatever harebrained scheme Jose has cooked up again. And I’m just sure all of my personal belongings will be “lost in shipping” yet again. We are moving to an alien world to live with a stepfamily I’m not particularly fond of. To a strange place where modern plumbing will be one of the things I will miss most. To a place where we’ll be foreigners and people will stare at us and call us “gringas.” We are moving to a strange place that will forever shape how I feel about home.

Materials: Chatterbox patterned papers.
