I am so excited about guesting for the 2Peas Design School event this week! I was given the theme of “Unity” for the focus of my project. I tend to look at unity in design as the result of tying multiple components together to create a cohesive whole. Because my pages usually have many decorative elements, I like creating clusters to “ground” my pages. The clusters create mini-scenes throughout the page, thus making it appear deliberate and focused in the midst of lots going on. Creating several clustered scenes, each with similar balance in color and texture will tie the entire page together and give you the united feel that you want.
