I was happy to join in Lisa's http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/classes_and_events/classes/62-2012-captured-with-lisa-truesdell/ class because I'm just a little behind…can you tell? I refuse to give up though because this album is already getting so much more interest from my family than any of my previous pages ever have. So glad to have had this opportunity to play along and get a bit closer to “caught up.”I've been approaching this project from a hybrid perspective from the beginning so including digital elements in a traditional form was an easy task. And I've been trying to include snippets of conversation and different viewpoints in each spread but this assignment was a good reminder for me.Here is how I approached my week 7 spread:1: Full spread (I've been mixing and matching the Becky Higgins page protectors with We R Memory Keepers so each week differs depending on how much info and how many photos I have to include.2: Left side.3: A couple of photos from Valentine's day with pen written notes jotted on each and a small scrap of cardboard from the candy we gave to the boys' classmates stapled on.4: Photo + printed digital journaling card (Indexed kit.)5: Left - photo from my TV backed with BasicGrey paper//printed digital card.6: I used two different kits to build this card, adjusting the colors to match the general color scheme for the whole spread (Watercolor Notes + Journaling 2012 Cards: Set 2.) 7: Documenting our Thursdays - Jake stays after school for Harmonizers (3/4/5 grade choir.) I love that his favorite part of choir isn't the singing, but the socializing (he never would have outright told that to me so I'm so glad I asked him to write this out!)8: Left is a printed journaling card (Indexed kit) with a printed thought bubble (Hero Arts Write Your Message) for him to record his thoughts. 9: Photo of my husband and daughter…printed digital journaling card from the March facebook fan free download (recolored from grey/white.)10: A phone pic of some art Izzy created. On her bedroom door. Monster. The left side includes a printed frame (Indexed kit) that she “signed” her name to. She obviously can't write anything extensively yet but I'm glad to have her current signature included to complement her art.11: Right side is a digital kit that I printed in reverse and handcut (layered over printed digital paper.)12: Right side.13: This four slot grouping is to document our anniversary (feb15.) I included a couple of photos I took of us on our anniversary with the remote, a title block that I printed (white on digital kraft) and embellished and the bottom left quadrant includes a list of questions I found online http://sissyprint.blogspot.com/2012/02/valentines-day-dinner-questions.html?spref=tw/ [here] that I reworked a bit. 14: I printed the white copy at 3x4“ and then created more space for answering in a separate version that I printed on kraft paper at 6x4” Carlos and I filled out the kraft cards and I stapled the “he said, she said” tabs on to make it easier to remove for viewing the answers (which I won't be sharing here ;) I'm so glad I have these thoughts recorded a decade in to our marriage. It was fun to complete these and I know it will be even more fun to reflect back on the answers as the years go by!15: The spread “title” block. Printed digital paper with a couple of layered borders and letter stickers for the title. The image I used to create the silhouette was downloaded from http://www.cindyferguson.com/images/lovelasso.pdf [here]16: Just a peek at my chaotic process…I generally figure out what I'm going to do digitally and then begin printing and piecing everything together. This is what my digital file looked like near the end of my planning.17: And yet, even with the planning, my counter still looks like this as I assemble.
