Here it is FINALLY Robin! Robin's theme is games people play…the journaling explains it. I had to go buy another can of frosting so Robin could have a copy of the game too - hope you enjoy it! (I know I will enjoy the cake I make with it, lol)

Journaling reads:
Games have always been a big part of my life. As a kid, my brother, stepmom and I would practically beg my dad to play games with us (from time to time, he would actually agree to it :p) We had a closet full of board games to choose from. Monopoly was my brother’s favorite though most of the rest of us hated it (I mean it goes on forever…it’s the game that never ends!) Not many trips to my grandparents house didn’t include a few hands of Uno. I think our current favorite is Cranium although living on opposite sides of the country doesn’t afford us many opportunities to play. Carlos, my sister Emily and I make quite a team – I think it’s our patented “winner’s head-butt” that makes us so successful. When we were kids, we were so into Clue that my brother Jeremy and my step-mom and I made our own version of Clue. It started just as a board game with our made up rooms, characters and tiny clay weapons but soon evolved into our quest to make a video version of the game (quick note for you Clue devotees…VHS Clue is rather slow and monotonous as you have to continually rewind and fast forward to get to the different clues but if there is a DVD version available now, I would highly recommend it. I’m sure it is da bomb ) The video version didn’t make it past the first scene though unfortunately…I blame it on a lot of pre-production planning issue ;) Since I’ve met Carlos, we’ve enjoyed quite a few rousing games or Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble and Chess. These games often resulted in a lot of good natured smack-talking. We’re both pretty competitive but neither one of us gets upset by the outcomes. Now that Jake is so mobile and wants to grab at everything, we don’t get to play games very much anymore. Recently though, we’ve discovered a new form of gaming entertainment. A can of frosting came with a free computer version of Yahtzee. I’ve always enjoyed Yahtzee but haven’t played in years. Carlos had never played before which I thought would give me a great advantage…boy was I wrong! He kicks my butt about 90% of the time…and here I thought it was all about the luck of the roll! Anyways, I digress. What began as a quick game to check out the CD-ROM quickly became a cherished time for us. We can sit in bed at night after Jake is asleep and play…it’s a way for us to re-connect after a long day. Funny how games can bring people together in the strangest ways…thank goodness I had a cake craving that day!
And for the record…yes, I am a big nerd!
.
